This puja watti is a round, flat basket used for offerings in Sri Lanka. Also, skilled craftsmen make it by hand from natural bamboo. People call it a pooja watti too.
Size of the puja watti
First, you get one watti. It is a medium size, with a diameter of 10 inches. Then, the wide flat base gives you plenty of space for flowers and fruit.
Made from natural bamboo
Local craftsmen weave every watti by hand using many traditional skills. They shape the bamboo into a neat round tray with a strong rim. As a result, each watti is light and firm. Also, the colour may differ from the photo.
Many uses for your puja watti
Traditionally, people used this watti to offer pooja and offerings to the gods. For example, when you carry flowers, it is called a mal watti. Moreover, when you carry fruit, it is called a palathuru watti. You can also use it as a tray at home.
Eco friendly and non-toxic
Bamboo is an eco friendly and non-toxic material. So you can replace plastic trays with a natural choice. Also, you support skilled Sri Lankan craftsmen when you buy it.
Easy care for your puja watti
Wipe the watti with a dry cloth. Then keep it in a dry place. Also, please keep it dry after use.
